Holidays in Chłopy
Chłopy - a small seaside fishing village between Mielno to the east and Sarbinowo to the west, located along the coast of the Baltic Sea. It is a resort you can cover on foot in a couple of minutes, admiring the fishing village with some
19th-century cottages still preserved.
Because of its well-preserved, traditional buildings typical for fishing villages and several historic wattle and daub cottages Chłopy was entered into the register of cultural monuments. It has several hundred permanent residents and boasts a fishing harbour, clean, sandy beaches and dunes covered with pine forests. It is a perfect place for summer holidays, as well as weekends all year round, where you can enjoy a unique, healthy microclimate and breathe in fresh, unpolluted air.
As there is a fishing harbour in the very centre of the village, you can buy fresh fish every day.
There is free access to the beach which you can reach by two paths.
First historical records referring to the village Chłopy (German: Bauerhufen) come from the 18th century.
In the 19th century it was advertised as a seaside bathing resort and in 1923 it already offered a seaside inn with 30 guestrooms, a boarding house and lodgings in several private homes for as many as 400 guests. Nowadays the village still offers holiday lodgings provided by the residents in their homes, as well as in boarding houses and cabins, for rent in the holiday season.
If you are looking for a resort with night clubs and bars, Chłopy is not the place for you.
